First drive: Nissan primera sport.

Finally got a chance to drive our new car, and honestly, it is probably the bast £200 ever spent for a car! Ok, so that might be a slight exaggeration but still, its a cracking motor for being 12 years old!
Drove it back to Elgin, around town the steering is heavy, but to be fair we wont be spending a massive amount of time in towns. (hopefully!) once i got it out of town it cruises quietly with very little engine noise, only doing 2500rpm. i was slightly apprehensive about the automatic box. but my fears soon faded as soon as i put my foot down for an overtake, it shifted down almost instantly and shot toward the horizon. there was no drama just smooth power delivery. Arriving at the far side of Keith got slowed down by a tractor so decided to take the back road to Elgin. now i would get a chance to really test it!
As a solid fan of manual gearboxes in the twisties i almost found myself defecting to the dark side. I was stunned! an automatic that is very almost as fun to drive as a manual. My reality has just been knocked on its ass!
Normally i was never a fan of Nissan, and after a bad experience with a Micra. but dislike soon developed into a deep seated hatred. but now, now i find myself beginning to reverse this. i will forever hate the Micra, that will never change. it will forever be a passion that will stay with me. however other nissans, i really cant fault their build quality. they may not be the most attractive cars on the road, but this car has done 12 years. granted its onlyt 39000 miles but even so, i would think it might have some annoying rattle or quirk. but after 12 years all the major electrics are still working perfectly, including the sunroof and wing mirrors. there are no squeaks or rattles and most importantly it is a joy to drive! the only thing that isn't working is the CD multi changer. but I'm sure we will be able to survive without that.
A massive thank you once again to Scott at Town and County Honda in Aberdeen for getting us such a cracking car! Muchas gracias senoir!
